Ma Ingalls Day! :)

Laundry soap making day!
Bit of these and grated Fels Napthia soap
Grated soap, water and stir, stir, stir!!
Add the washing soda and Borax and stir, stir, stir!!
Add lots more hot wart and stir, stir, stir!
Put into containers. Let rest a few hours and done!!  I shake each time before pouring portion for laundry.  Costs about?  I would say 75 cents to make two- bit over one gallon containers!!
Use less per load as well so containers last a couple people about 6-9 months for 1-2 loads a week!
Not bad!!!

Now it's time for coffee and breakfast.
Thankfully?? I don't need to milk the cow, gather the eggs, and make the cheese for my breakfast! :)
Although? Would be willing to do that! :)

This suburban apt dweller will do that from my 'farm up' game instead, lol!

But, I love doing the 'farm things' that I am able to do here in my apt living!

Hugs to your day!

Blessings from me!

Interesting summer!

Well, it has been awhile since a post.

We had an interesting summer here. Temps on the lower side as a whole, humidity not as bad as usual.......but rains, rains, rains!!!

My container gardens got flooded out over and over! Sooooo.......had to give up.

Now it's drier with very hot sunny temps, so I'm attempting a bit of planting some herbs and fall vegs. We will see how it goes!?

This summer also brought a sad face
:(

Have always enjoyed this beautiful, huge tree outside our balcony. It offered beauty, shade, place for birds. Each window of our apt offered a view of this great tree.
Due to problems? The complex has cut down majority of the trees on the property.
Yes, will get over it!!! But so disappointed .
Really am missing the beauty, shade and the birds roosting and chirping! :(

Perhaps I will add a couple dwarf trees to my balcony next spring? To somewhat make up for it? : )

How was everyone's summer? Gardens?

I look forward to fall every year. Its my favorite season to enjoy! Love the cool air and beautiful fall colors.
What are some of your favorite fall decorations?

Enjoy whatever you are doing today!!

Blessings,
Linda

Spring and New Life

Well, it has been an odd winter, harsher for many , delayed and crazy for others. Many areas still getting storms and snow.

Began planting new seeds of herbs and vegs and I'm excited each morning as new sprouts come thru the soil and others continue to grow bigger and taller!!

Even a delayed spring season brings new signs of life, a fresh start each year. Easter season reminds us always of becoming a new creation in Christ if we accept His sacrifice on the cross for us! So grateful that He grants me a new start and second chance each and every day!!

This morning, we grieve for the tragedy that unfolded in Boston yesterday. We hurt as a nation for those lives lost and injured and changed forevermore by senseless acts of hate.

I won't try to understand the how's or whys of things like this?! Why they have to even happen at all?? In times like these we run to our God, seek His comfort. Lets be real here, often as well we also take our anger, hurt and frustration to Him, and/or sometimes at Him. We are human and wish we had answers in times like these.

I do believe my God does not make us robots. We are free to accept Him or not. And with that choice also comes the choices of being the type of people we want to be and making the choices we want to as well. There is a lot of good and honor in this world. But there is also the people and groups who wish excessive harm to innocent people, feel violence is the answer to 'their causes', or for whatever mindless there reasons might be.

Prayers today for our country, for our world. In spite of the pain, the ugly that is often out there........I want to believe that the majority of us choose life, choose peace and that our common themes unite more of us in the world than divide us!

May each of us seek to find ways, however small, to begin better changes for the good in our world!

Thoughts and prayers to all

'Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise' Hebrews 10:23

Today is a sunny, cloudy day out......yet still cool air. There is snow in the 7 day forecast.
Yet, I will keep my little spring decoration out!! Staying hopeful for spring......that it Really is around that corner??!!

How many are hopeful for spring? I know I am! Anxious to plant my container herbs on the balcony, anxious to feel the warmth of the sun!

I think many others are anxious as well and look forward to not being so coupes up because of snow and cold.
Yet, today I have been thinking....A LOT!
About how I/we spend our time. Is the Lord our focus? Is He the first thing we think about? Is He the first One we go to with our joys, trials, questions, guidance?
If I am being honest, I have to say that many times, for myself? No!
However, in daily struggles with health, pain, He usually is the first to hear my complaining.

A family member mentioned the other day to me, 'What would lives be like, how much better and more answered prayer might their be???? If more time was spent with Him. Less time with tv, running around here and there, etc. if we slowed down and REALLY focused on Him and sought Him and His answers!!'

I/we may never know........because we do stay too preoccupied with other things. Often actually, if we are truly being honest with ourselves .
In this time of changing seasons......is it just possible that God allows the winter, in part........to slow us down once in awhile. Cause us to quiet down and focus on the things that really and truly matter??

It is my hearts desire to hopefully work harder at those things each day.

I would enjoy hearing how any of you have changed schedules, etc in order to accomplish these very things!

Enjoy your days as we look forward to spring and a season of re-birth!

Blessings,
Linda

Our crazy snowstorm!

Just a few pics from the 'Blizzard of Oz' as we all dubbed it out here. Was a crazy week of snowstorms!

This blogging journey!

Good morning!

Wow! I am fairly new to the blogging thing!
Not exactly sure what on earth I am doing or how to?
I'm learning Internet skills a little bit at a time!
:)

I hope to share with others about the journeys of life that God may allow us to take, both the joys, blessings and sometimes (often times) the sorrows and hardships!

Let's learn from one another and grow together!

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Linda
